Join author and creative intuitive Sarah Selecky to learn the magical art of writing from your whole self, using intellect and intuition at once.

These skills live in the heart of story and poetry, yet they’re rarely taught in traditional writing programs. While academic courses focus on craft and technique, they often overlook the mystical ways writers have always connected to symbol, narrative, and ideas. Intuitive practices are essential to creative well-being. Every writer has natural access to this intelligence, but most of us were never taught how to use it as part of our creative toolkit.

Sarah’s primary interest as a guide is to help writers access the natural creative force that flows through them, while helping them understand how language works so they feel confident making creative decisions.

This retreat invites writers of all levels to move beyond overthinking and into the flow state, where we do our best work. You’ll learn to integrate your analytical mind with your creative energy, so you can write from your whole self, not just your thoughts.

Writing with intuition is incredible. It is the unseen force that makes our writing come alive. When filled with this mysterious power, words can enchant, heal, enliven, and awaken. Connecting with your intuition makes writing feel like magic!

In this five-day retreat, writers might begin to see new vibrancy in colours, have vivid dreams about their work, or suddenly understand something essential about their novel while staring at a fir tree. You’ll write a scene and wonder, “Who wrote that?” All of this is normal and wonderful. When writers gather together to practice in nature, magic happens.

Each morning begins with instruction in whole-minded writing practices through gentle trance techniques, intuitive writing, and deep sensory awareness. Discover how to translate physical sensations into vivid writing that feels alive on the page. Explore Tarot as a creative catalyst to reveal unexpected directions in character, plot, and theme.

In the afternoons, you will go on intuitive field trips with the forest and the ocean, as you practice deep noticing and experience consciousness as a creative force flowing through the natural world. Evenings will bring dreamwork and reflection.

Through guided writing prompts, silent co-writing sessions, and solo exploration, you’ll transform your inner critic into a supportive inner protector and connect directly to the deeper truth of your story. Learn concrete techniques for moving fluidly between analysis and flow, active thinking and receptivity.

The goal is for everyone to leave this retreat feeling integrated, whole, and powerful in their writing practice, understanding that they are both part of a story and creating a story. Writing with intuition is natural, but we’ve forgotten how to access it. This retreat reminds you.

Writers are more powerful than they realize. We know this deep down, but it takes courage to tap into the mystery. Creative curiosity is your home, and intuitive writing is the practice of being fully alive on the page. It’s what we’re here for.

So come write as your whole, true self! This retreat is appropriate for all experience levels, especially writers who feel stuck in a current work-in-progress.

Testimonials

Working with Sarah made my writing more vivid, more tangible, more visceral, and embodied. And I feel like I am forever changed as a writer. Sarah uses intuition as a tool to help you find your writing. Every time I interacted with Sarah, I was surprised by how supportive and delightful she is. And in that container of support, I really rediscovered my ability to listen to what my story had to tell me. I can’t recommend working with Sarah enough. She’s an incredible human being. Those of us who get to work with her see that immediately. She is a unicorn. — Kelly Anderson, MD CCFP(EM) AAHIVS

With sensitivity and care, Sarah showed me that I can trust the process at a deeper level than my conscious mind. She shared exercises and daily practices that guided me in letting go into the liminal space of generative writing without losing my way. That was one of many revelations. Sarah creates a space of sacredness and levity in every session. You’ll feel challenged, encouraged, and celebrated at each turn. And you’ll come away with a renewed sense of courage, continuity and confidence. Sarah is a master coach. Her work is a unique and rare gift for writers of all backgrounds. —Gillian Ferrabee, Transformative Leadership Coach and President of Kite Parade

Sarah’s approach, blending coaching and meditation, opened up so many possibilities. Writers of any genre could benefit from working with her, because she meets them where they are. She knows how to teach craft, but being a writer is so much more than that. She’s like a ‘writer whisperer.’ It was an honor having her as my mentor and teacher. —Heidi Phillips

I’m still surprised at how much lighter and more joyful I feel about writing…Sarah helped me change my brain. She helped me sweep out all the old cobwebs and plant better, newer thoughts—images that make me feel excited about the upcoming writing. As my writing life has taken on more profound joy, my life has generally opened up. It has been a truly remarkable journey. — Dolly Reisman

Working with Sarah has been truly transformative for my writing practice. In a broad sense, I no longer find my inner critic talking me out of showing up to the page to write.
