Sarah Selecky
Sarah Selecky‘s collection This Cake Is for the Party was a finalist for the Giller Prize and Commonwealth Prize, and her novel Radiant Shimmering Light was optioned by HBO. She holds an MFA from the University of British Columbia and founded the Sarah Selecky Writing School in 2011 as an independent alternative to traditional MFA programs. Her teaching philosophy centres on writing with the whole self: emotional, physical, mental, and energetic intelligence working together. This integrated approach, rarely taught in academic settings, helps writers access creative flow and complete meaningful work. Her latest book, Story Is a State of Mind: Writing and the Art of Creative Curiosity teaches people how to build a whole-minded writing practice and a fruitful writing life they love.
