Slow down and settle into the rhythms of summer on the Salish Sea during this lightly facilitated coastal mini retreat.

Designed with spaciousness and flexibility in mind, Summer Tides blends restorative downtime with extraordinary experiences on the water — including a sailing excursion to Mitlenatch Island and a floating sauna experience in Desolation Sound.

Spend your days however you choose: walk forest trails, swim in the ocean, enjoy Hollyhock’s gardens and waterfront, book a bodywork treatment, read in the sun, or simply rest and reconnect with nature.

Two signature excursions anchor the retreat:

Sail – Board the 43-foot schooner Misty Isles for a half-day sail through the Salish Sea to Mitlenatch Island, home to the largest seabird colony in the region. Guided by island caretaker and local guide Kai Harvey, explore this remarkable ecological reserve while learning about coastal wildlife, marine ecology, local history, and the diverse bird species that nest along its shores.

Sauna – Travel by boat to Refuge Cove for a special floating sauna experience in a sheltered bay in Desolation Sound. Alternate between cedar sauna heat, cold ocean plunges, swimming, paddleboarding, and relaxing by the water surrounded by forested coastline and quiet summer beauty.

This retreat is ideal for guests seeking a restorative summer getaway with meaningful nature experiences, ocean connection, and the freedom to do as much — or as little — as they like.
