Learning Objectives

Discover how the Four Dimensions of Presence can be utilized to:

  • Resolve Fight, Flight, Freeze, Submit and Attach utilizing the 4 Dimensions of Presence.
  • Heal trauma-induced negative beliefs such as “I’m not enough, I am bad. I’m not lovable. I’m not safe.”
  • Help clients experience the essence of who they are as Presence that can be aware of their thoughts, feelings and trauma.
  • Utilize Transcendent Presence to process trauma without spiritual bypass.
  • Reduce anxiety and depression and increase well-being.

Through a specific Presence Orienting Process in session, clients can easily experience Presence that exists in and around us:

  • Compassionate Presence
  • Spacious Presence
  • Transcendent Presence
  • Grounded Presence

This highly supportive, experiential training for mental health professionals is rooted in evidence-based practice and helps clients orient to Four Dimensions of Presence to sense compassion in and around them, experience oneness, and sense the essence of who they are beyond their trauma.

Skills in this training are taught first through didactic presentations, followed by live demonstrations. Participants can then practice the skill in small groups with an experienced and supportive trainer. In the small groups each participant will have the opportunity to be a therapist, client and observer. A willingness to understand and heal our own wounds is required.  Experiential learning helps participants learn skills to advance their clinical effectiveness.

Presence Psychotherapy was developed by trauma expert Michelle Lepak LCSW, whose work has been published in multiple academic journals. Michelle is a sought after teacher and has been presented at multiple conferences. She has been faculty at the University of Pennsylvania department of psychiatry, has taught at the University of Buffalo and Rutgers University and the Omega Institute.  Michelle is an IFS approved consultant and IFS certified therapist, an Advanced Somatic Experiencing practitioner, EMDR level 2 trained, psychoanalytically trained, and is AEDP level 1 trained.  Michelle is a long-time meditator. Presence Psychotherapy is practiced in 7 countries.

Testimonial

“Presence Psychotherapy is a powerful model that helps people remain regulated while processing strong emotions.  It opens Awareness to frequencies that create safety for resolution of Fight Flight Freeze responses and trauma-induced negative beliefs.  I see enormous potential in working with Presence Frequencies.” – Sharon Freedman, Ph.D. past participant and Developer of Embodiment Psychotherapy.

“I was blown away by this training!”  – Jordana Skurka, Psy.D, past participant.

“Michelle is one of those rare practitioner/teachers who possesses an abundance of knowledge combined with the gift of a keen intuitive sense that she integrates organically into being a highly skilled trainer/teacher. She is open, warm, present, caring, and very well organized… She creates a very caring, safe environment within which much joyful learning can take place.” – Bob Evans, Ph.D, Past participant
