M. Rako Fabionar
M. Rako Fabionar is the Co-Founder and Executive Director of the Innovative Learning and Living Institute (ILALI), which co-stewards Landwell—a 22-acre ancient wetland valley that serves as a wayfinding place for regenerative living, cultural innovation, and community resilience.
With over three decades of experience, Rako has cultivated transformative learning environments by integrating scientific, social, and sacred technologies into the design and delivery of diverse educational and cultural offerings. His work spans public, private, and nonprofit sectors.
Rako has taught at Presidio Graduate School, started centers and undergraduate programs within the California State University system, and designed transformative learning journeys for Indigenous communities, BIPOC change networks, and alternative humanistic institutions such as the Esalen Institute and Hollyhock. He has been a guide for the Edge Finance Accelerator and advised leaders within Google, Genenetch, Skywalker Ranch, and the Hearthland Foundation.
Rako is a founding member of Salmon Nation and the Guild of Future Architects. A translineage mystic, he holds a graduate degree in American Studies, a professional certificate in Organizational Development, and is an initiated medicine man and elder in the Dagara lineage tradition.
