Lisa Gibbons

Lisa Gibbons is a Canadian artist, working in mixed media, employing a variety of techniques, including acrylic, oil, watercolour, drawings, collage, found objects, bee’s wax, gold leaf, and other elements to create multi-layered textures in rich colours. Her work borrows images from the lush, wild landscape and juxtaposes symbols that reflect two worlds: a world we see and a world we can’t see.

Lisa studied art at Emily Carr University in Vancouver, Canada, and also studied with artist mentors. Her work is widely held in private collections throughout North America, Europe, South Africa, and Australia. She teaches art programs as well as weekly art programs for children and adults. Lisa is an active community member and long-time resident of Cortes Island, British Columbia.
