Leah Abramson
Leah Abramson is a singer, songwriter, and composer whose work explores vocal harmonies, embodiment, and the intersection of humanity and the environment. Leah has released four albums of original music and has contributed to dozens of others as a songwriter and vocalist. After years spent touring and recording internationally as a lead singer and member of various ensembles, Leah has added playwright, producer, and music director to her credits, with Songs For a Lost Pod, her large-scale interdisciplinary song cycle, which premiered in 2022.
As an instructor, Leah leads songwriting and music workshops for people of all ages and abilities, notably as an Adjunct Professor in the UBC Creative Writing Program (Lyric Forms), and as a trauma-informed facilitator for projects across the Lower Mainland.
Leah holds a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing (focus on lyrics) and is the winner of the 2024 Viva Singers Composition Competition as a choral composer. She currently lives and works on the traditional, unceded territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations, also known as Vancouver, BC.
