Together: A Gathering for Facilitators (Vancouver)

Skillful facilitation has the capacity to transform spaces and communities. There’s a special kind of power that is felt when people come together in circle, to speak truth, and to practice better ways of being in dialogue.

Now in its fourth year, Together brings facilitators from across sectors into a shared space of practice. Hollyhock Leadership Institute, in partnership with the SFU Morris J. Wosk Centre for Dialogue and the Dialogue and Civic Engagement Certificate program, is once again offering this unique opportunity to co-create a transformative learning community.

Together is not a lecture series or a toolkit download. It is three days of practicing the craft alongside peers, in a setting designed to be nervous-system friendly, embodied, and grounded in the belief that our collective genius outweighs any one expert’s. You’ll leave with new frameworks, but also with something harder to find: a community of practice that continues after the gathering ends.

Through this program, participants will:

• Develop and deepen networks of mutual support and collaboration with fellow facilitators
• Explore and apply diverse facilitation practices and frameworks, from circle and dialogue methods to arts-based and embodied approaches
• Work with real challenges from their own practice, including difficult conversations, power dynamics, and moments when a group gets stuck
• Gain valuable insights to further their growth as facilitators
• Cultivate a sense of joy and connection in the learning process

Since 2024, participants in Together have:

• Strengthened their facilitation skills, leading to more impactful and transformative group experiences
• Expanded their professional networks, opening new opportunities for collaboration and growth
• Deepened their understanding of group dynamics and dialogue, enabling them to navigate complex conversations with greater skill and ease
• Left feeling inspired and equipped to create positive change in their communities

Facilitators, educators, organizers, dialogue practitioners, and leaders who hold space for groups, whether you are early in your practice or many years in and looking to renew it.

Please Note: This program takes place in Vancouver, BC. Participants are responsible for their own lodging and meals.
