With Rick Ingrasci & Peggy Taylor
July 21 - 26, 2019
Join a multigenerational, diverse group of change makers at the 33rd Annual Hollyhock Summer Gathering. Experience true belonging in a creative community. Learn about local solutions that are catalyzing wide scale social change. Share your gifts and projects, and learn from others.
We invite you to be a part of this evolving, transformative learning community, and we guarantee a Better Party! Inspiring, motivating, enlightening. Join us for some “serious fun” as we explore ways to navigate the turbulent tides of change. Children welcome.
The Summer Gathering began in 1986 as a social experiment in innovative conference design. The Gathering is part exploration of ideas and strategies and part summer holiday. It brings together a vibrant, diverse group of movers and shakers, social entrepreneurs, educators, healers, artists, and thinkers to explore social transformation and human consciousness.
Operating on the principle that real creativity at conferences happens over tea or in the hot tub, as well as in workshops, the Gathering has a flexible structure with plenty of time for informal conversation, creative expression, and fun.
- Morning plenary sessions feature dynamic, interactive presentations by social entrepreneurs, innovators, and artists from a variety of disciplines.
- The afternoons are self-organized open space — participants share their work and ideas with each other in simultaneous sessions. Afternoons also afford time for swimming, hiking, kayaking, massage, creative arts, and the like.
- In the evenings we do our very best to experience collective joy through a dance party, group singing, storytelling, theater improv, an open mic, an oyster barbecue, and sunset meditations.
