Geopoetics Artists' Residency
With Vanessa Richards and Hanna Sybille Müller
April 23 - 27, 2022
Anyone who has ever attended a generative conference knows the desire for a little more reflective time to process, integrate new perspectives, go deeper with fellow participants, and allow new ideas and collaborations to emerge.
This residency, which begins as the Geopoetics Symposium concludes, will offer a mix of optional time for discussion and gathering to complement and inspire an otherwise self-directed time for artists, writers, and scholars to work in a community of creative practice.
Depending on the unique constellation of participants, there is also room for emergent, self-propelled workshops, showings of works-in-progress, discussions, nature walks, and other creative happenings. The schedule is intentionally light and open to allow for as much or little collective engagement as each participant desires, amid 48 acres of forest, garden, orchard and beach.
The residency is not juried and is on a first-come, first-serve basis. There are a limited number of spaces per discipline, depending what kind of workspace you require. Please see link to ‘Spaces’ below for studio descriptions/photos. You will be sent a brief survey after you register where you can indicate what kind of set-up you require. Visual arts will be in the Bluff House; dance in Raven; writers (or anyone requiring a private desk) should book a private or semi-private room with a desk when registering (as both accommodation and workspace). There are also communal spaces where you can write, such as the lodge dining room.
You may also join us for a deeper immersion into poetics and geography at the Geopoetics Symposium from April 19–23, 2022.
